How to spot a fake payment slip, and let the system check for you
A customer sending a slip picture does not mean the money is in your account. Fake slips, slips with edited numbers and old slips sent again are common for online shops, especially during a live when many orders arrive at once. This article covers the signs of a fake slip you can check yourself, why checking transfer slips by hand stops working as your shop grows, and how to let the system check slips for you.
Why fake slips get through
A slip is just a picture, and anyone can send a picture. An image that looks exactly like a real slip may have an edited amount, belong to a different order, or show a transfer to someone else's account. Most shops are not caught out because they are careless, but because they are answering chats, closing sales and packing at the same time, with no time to check every slip closely. So there is one core rule: trust the money that actually reached your account, not the slip picture.
6 signs of a fake slip you can check yourself
1The amount matches the order to the baht
Compare the slip amount with the order total including shipping. Even a few baht short may be a short payment, and a round number when the order total is not round is worth confirming with the customer before you accept it.
2The transfer time makes sense for the order
A slip whose transfer time is before the customer even ordered, or that arrives hours or days after the order for no clear reason, deserves a closer look, because it may be an old slip being reused.
3The recipient name and account are your shop's
Check that the recipient name and account number shown on the slip match the account your shop actually gave the customer. A slip that looks perfect but went to another account does not pay you.
4The reference number has not been seen before
Each slip carries a reference number for the transfer. If the reference matches a slip your shop has already received, whether from the same customer or someone else, it is the same slip sent again, not a new transfer.
5The digits and text look consistent
Zoom in on the amount, date and name. If some characters are bolder or thinner, use a different font, sit out of line, or have a smudged background around them, the image may have been edited. Some fake slips look very convincing, so treat this as a warning sign only, not the final word.
6The money has really arrived
The most important check. Open your banking app or your shop's account statement and find a transaction whose amount and time match the slip. If you cannot see the money yet, do not pack or ship, however convincing the slip looks.
Why checking slips by hand breaks down during a live
Running all 6 checks on one slip does not take long, but after a single live, dozens or hundreds of slips can arrive close together. Admins switch back and forth between chats, the banking app and the order list, and the more they rush, the more steps they skip. Reused slips are the hardest to catch, because someone has to remember or search whether a reference number has been seen before. As orders grow, checking by eye becomes the place where a shop quietly loses money, and customers who really paid are left waiting.
Let the system check slips for you
CF-Shops checks slips automatically as soon as the customer attaches one. It compares the slip amount with the order and the shop's account, and flags fake slips, reused slips and short payments. The order status updates by itself, so sellers do not open slips one by one and only spend time on the orders the system flags. It works with orders from TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and LINE OA lives, and customers receive an order summary with a payment link through Messenger or LINE OA.

Frequently asked questions
How can I tell if a slip is fake?
Check that the amount matches the order, the transfer time makes sense, the recipient name and account are your shop's, the reference number has not been seen before, and the digits show no signs of editing. The surest check is confirming the money really reached your shop's account in your banking app, because some fake slips look very real.
What should I do if a customer sends a reused slip?
If the reference number matches a slip you have already received, treat this order as unpaid. Politely ask the customer for proof of the new transfer, and do not ship until you see the money in your account. Sometimes customers simply send the wrong picture by mistake.
What does CF-Shops slip verification check?
When a customer attaches a slip, the system compares the slip amount with the order and the shop's account, flags fake slips, reused slips and short payments, and updates the order status by itself. It works with orders from TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and LINE OA.
